Opus 54 premiere

In a fascinating sight and sound presentation, two of our seniors tell the story of Opus 54, the organ installed in the chapel in 1991 by the Martin Ott Pipe Organ Company of St. Louis. The documentary film revolves around the people who made a dream become a reality: the organ builder and his craftsmen, the organ consultant, the original organ committee chairman, and the musicians who have made the instrument come alive. The film is more than dry information; there’s creativity and passion for what Mozart called “the king of instruments.” Opus 54 is a must see for teachers, musicians, and organ aficionados.

The 90 minute presentation will premiere at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary on Wednesday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. with a question and answer session following. There is no admission charge.
