Organ recital and lecture

When Johann Sebastian Bach set out to publish his first volume of compositions for organ, he chose as his subject material the catechism hymns of Martin Luther. The resulting works display not only Bach’s masterful music, but also his deep understanding of the catechism truths that Luther expressed in the words of his hymns. You are invited to join Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary students Jacob Behnken and Philip Moldenhauer as they give a multimedia presentation and organ recital highlighting these elements of Bach’s musical and theological insight. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served. Wednesday, February 1, 7:00pm, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chapel.
