Sem Gems to hold retreat

Praiseworthy Women will be the theme of a Sem Gems retreat at Grace, Milwaukee, on Saturday, January 30. The retreat, presented by Pastors’ Wives’ Renewal, is intended for the wives of seminary students, vicars, and recent graduates. The day-long schedule includes worship, presentations, and discussion workshops specifically tailored for women whose husbands serve or will soon serve in the pastoral ministry.

More than 50 years ago the Sem Gems program was established at WLS to help prepare students’ wives and fiancées for the joys and challenges of being a pastor’s wife. Faculty wives also attend the meetings to offer guidance and support. Sem Gems meets regularly for devotion, presentations, discussion, and mutual encouragement.
