Vicar Finances

Since students cannot engage in outside gainful employment during their vicarship year, all vicars receive from synod a monthly stipend from August 15th through August 14th. The amount of this monthly stipend is set and reviewed annually by the Conference of Presidents. Vicar housing costs are monitored and, when potentially burdensome to a student, subsidized. Provision is made for the vicar's medical insurance coverage. He is also reimbursed for the use of his vehicle on vicar assignments and for the cost of one round trip between his home and the place of vicarship.
